Dentis USA has agreed to pay close to $600,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) when it faxed advertisements to individuals and dentists’ offices without permission.
The plaintiffs claim that the faxes did not contain opt-out information required under the TCPA and that they and other Class Members did not provide consent or have a prior business relationship with Dentis either. The plaintiffs say the unwanted faxes were sent to Class Members starting Sept. 16, 2012.
