Leading car brands like Mazda, BMW, Toyota, and Subaru have agreed to settle for an economic class action lawsuits that are related to the Takata airbag defect. This settlement will resolve all the allegations that these companies manufactured and distributed that contain airbags with defective deflators.
When these defective deflators are deployed, it can cause the airbag to rupture and get the debris into the vehicle. Along with this, the Plaintiffs say that they have also sustained various economic losses as a result of the Takata airbags.
Now, Takata has reported reaching a settlement that requires the airbag manufacturer to pay $1 billion for the penalties of wrongdoing. The car companies have also recalled millions of vehicles that contain defective airbags. At least, 10 deaths and 100’s of injuries worldwide have been blamed on the defective Takata airbags.
The defendants deny any wrongdoing but have also agreed to settle for the Takata class action lawsuits to avoid the risk and burden of the litigation.
However, if you would like to opt-out of Mazda, BMW, Toyota, and Subaru settlement, you must do it no later than Sept 25, 2017.

What Is The Proof Of Purchase?
To show your eligibility for claims, you must bring the vehicles to a dealership for Takata Airbag Recall remedy, unless they have returned or sold the subject vehicle between April 11, 2013, and June 9, 2017.
Class members must either file a claim for the reimbursement for the airbag-related expenses or file a claim residual for up to $250.
