A settlement has been reached under the square table protection plan lawsuit. This resolves the class action allegations against the company for sold square table protection plans on Amazon.
SquareTrade Protection Plans are basically the protection plans for various devices. They were sold on Amazon as add-on items to purchase.
If you ever purchased any SquareTrade Protection Plan from Amazon between April 20, 2012, and Oct. 8, 2018, you could get a refund with a $10 off coupon. To get the benefits, you need to file the claim before the deadline.
The lead plaintiffs accused that the makers of SquareTrade Protection Plans falsely marketing their product. They mislead the consumers on Amazon. Moreover, according to the SquareTrade Protection Plan class action lawsuit, the customers on Amazon were not informed about its features. Therefore, they deserve the refund as well as a coupon.
Further, customers were not informed about any clause within the terms and conditions of service required for the purchase of the square table plans. However, this bound them to arbitration. Moreover, according to the SquareTrade class action, hidden clauses violate Iowa state law, along with federal warranty laws.
The plaintiffs further accused the makers SquareTrade Protection Plans of failing to make these terms easily accessible to those purchasing via Amazon using a mobile device. Access to the term of service details of SquareTrade Protection Plans was difficult, claimed the plaintiffs.
But, SquareTrade did not admit any wrongdoing, instead, has agreed to change the terms of service and ready to modify how claims are processed.
In addition, the company has agreed to refund purchase money to Class Members’. Moreover, the defendant who previously denied ready to provide coupons worth $10 for SquareTrade products.
Note: The Class Members will automatically opt into the SquareTrade Protection Plan class action settlement.
Class Members who wish to opt out of the class action settlement must do so by May 22, 2019. Class Members who wish to object must do so by June 7, 2019.

Class Members include those who purchased a SquareTrade Protection Plan on Amazon between April 20, 2012, and Oct. 8, 2018.
