Case Summary

From the record of Professional Placement services it was clear that 19,134 phone numbers affected by their voicemails. Moreover, the voicemails sent to the class members without their consent which waste their time and data.

However, Plaintiff Morgan Taylor filed class action lawsuit in November 2016 against the Professional Placement Services. Further, Taylor claimed that she and other consumers received unwanted messages from Professional Placement services in their voicemail inbox.

The statement written in direct-to-voicemail was similar to: “This is Professional Placement Services, calling with a message. This call is from a debt collector. Please call us back at 855-777-0312. Again, that number is 855-777-0312.”

Further, according to the class action lawsuit the direct-to-voicemail messages violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

What is a Telephone consumer protection act?

The TCPA protects consumers from unwanted communications through calls, texts, and fax messages. However, a settlement has been reached between the company and plaintiffs that will benefit the class members.

Moreover, the class members need to file the valid claim to get the benefits from the reached settlement. Individuals may able to get an estimated amount of $500. But, the payment could be more or less depending upon the number of claims filed.

Therefore, file a valid claim before July 15, 2019 in order to receive payment. The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 10, 2019.
