A $3 million Jenny Craig class action settlement has been announced, resolving litigation over allegedly unlawful text messages.

Did you receive one or more text messages from the Jenny Craig between May 7, 2014, and Sept. 6, 2018? If yes, then you could get a cash prize from the Jenny Craig unwanted texts settlement.

Case summary:

Plaintiffs filed the Jenny Craig class action lawsuit in May 2018. According to this lawsuit, the marketing text messages were sent by the company to the customers’. Further, this stated that it violates the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the Jenny Craig class action, the plaintiff received texts as “Hi Zoey, It’s Liz @ Jenny Craig again. Don’t want you to miss our best offer ever! Free 1 yr prog. + $17 off the weekly menu for 12 wks. Interested?”

The plaintiff Zoey Bloom states that she is never given her written consent to receive telemarketing texts. However, the TCPA protects consumers from unlawful telemarketing texts including harassing phone calls without permission.

Under the terms and conditions of TCPA, plaintiffs can collect between $500 and $1,500. In August 2018, the defendant agreed to pay $3 million settlement to individuals who received one or more text messages.

The amount of compensation to each member will depend on the number of valid claims submitted before the due date.

The last date to fill the claim form is March 12, 2019. You can fill the claim Forms online at the settlement website or can download and sent through the mail to the settlement administrator.

The final approval of hearing for the Jenny Craig class action settlement is on Feb. 25, 2019. And, the Class Members who want to opt out of the settlement can do so before Nov. 5, 2018.

If you do not file a claim or do not exclude themselves from the settlement, then they cannot benefit from the Jenny Craig unwanted texts class action.
