A $16.5 million settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against interlines. The lawsuit alleges that the DuraPro toilet connectors with plastic coupling nuts were defective and caused property damage of consumers’.

The DuraPro class action lawsuit also claims that the Interline knew about the defective products. The same company redesigned or replaced the products years’ before. But, the company failed to provide safe installation instructions and warnings which leads to failure of the coupling nuts.

According to the DuraPro Toilet Connector Settlement, the coupling nuts of affected DuraPro toilet made up of acetyl plastic that was imported from China through Linx Ltd. or MTD (USA) Corp. Further, this was distributed in the United States and had a six-ribbed design or a bi-wing design.

The plaintiffs stated that the defendant Interline Brands Inc. manufactured, designed, and distributed DuraPro toilet connectors with defective plastic coupling nuts. They further stated that the company already knew about defects but did not do anything to avoid failure of installation of coupling nuts.
