The Plaintiff has accused 3 Day Blinds of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act as they send unsolicited text messages to their customers between October 27, 2013, and July 13, 2018.
But to avoid the litigation, the company has agreed to put an end to it by paying off $675,000. The company stated that they did not do anything wrong, but they will still comply with all the regulations of TCPA. The TCPA came into existence in 1991 by Congress to manage the usage of telemarketing services by the companies.
Under this protection act, it limits the way by which companies can contact the customers. If anyone found violating the rules, they will be charged steep fines of $1,500 per violation.
According to the settlement documents, around 12,000 people have received unsolicited text messages from the company. For those who have received annoying text messages from 3-day; they may get an estimated amount of $45 under the class action settlement.
The deadline to object the 3-Day Blinds Class Action Settlement is Oct. 8, 2018.
Who Is Eligible
The class members who have received at least one text message on their phone from the 3-Day Blinds and did not provide the consent to receive such messages between October 27, 2013, and July 13, 2018.
