The lawsuit claims that the company cheated emissions regulations.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2017, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) reportedly issued notices to Fiat Chrysler. The notice was for the violations of regulations due to emissions cheating software.<\/p>\n<p>The Class Members who get benefit from the settlement include owners, former owners, lessees, or former lessees. These include owners or lessees of 2014-2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel or 2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The class action lawsuit claiming that the consumers paid for vehicles that emitted more than 20 times the legal limit of emissions. But, in December 2017, the Fiat Chrysler attempted to dismiss the suit claiming that the consumers did not suffer from any diminution in vehicle value. However, plaintiffs had enough information to bring claims against the automotive company.<\/p>\n<p>After the tumultuous litigation, Fiat Chrysler agreed to settle the case. According to the settlement the owners of vehicle may get $3,075 for their vehicle and $2,460 if their vehicle is claimed by another Class Member. Also, the lessees may get $990.<\/p>\n<p>All the Class Members who are seeking for compensation need to file claim by Aug. 1, 2019.
