A settlement of $1.3 million has been released to resolve a class action lawsuit. According to the Food Class Action Settlement, the lawsuit filed against the Metagenics food products alleges that the products are falsely advertised as being able to treat various medical conditions. The medical conditions include diabetes, cardiovascular problems, fatigue, and bowel problems.<\/p>\n
Metagenics is a global nutria-genomics and lifestyle medicine company and sells 17 different types of \u201cMedical Foods\u201d.<\/p>\n
If you purchased a Metagenics product labeled as \u201cMedical Food\u201d since Nov. 9, 2011, then you could get compensation from this lawsuit settlement.<\/p>\n
The plaintiff William Grivas claims that he and other consumers purchased the food products sold by Metagenics in the thought of health benefits. The label of \u201cMedical Foods\u201d was mention on their product. The plaintiff accuses that these products may cause health issues like \u201cmetabolic syndrome,\u201d \u201ccompromised gut function,\u201d and others.<\/p>\n
According to the class action lawsuit, the advertisement violated California consumer protection laws.<\/p>\n
Note:<\/strong> Class Members with an objection to settlement can report before March 17, 2019.<\/p>\n The Class Members who live in the U.S and purchased Metagenics products since Nov. 9, 2011.<\/p>\n Class Members can file a claim for up to five products without proof.
