A $1.2 million ocean class action settlement has reached a class action lawsuit. According to this settlement, the individuals in a New Jersey correction facility were made to undergo a strip search without any particular suspicion.

With the occurrence of this situation, Ocean County, the chief of corrections of the Ocean County department and the Warden of the Jail have agreed to pay $1.2 million to those who are affected.

The eligible class members include the ones who were admitted into the Ocean Country correctional facility, between November 28, 2005, and Dec 28, 2007. However, they must also have been subjected to a strip search when they entered.

Now, according to the ocean class action settlement, the class members who submit a valid claim will receive up to $300. The total number of eligible members in this settlement is an estimated $7,530.

Along with this amount, this lawsuit will also pay the attorney fee, court costs, and awards to the plaintiffs. Moreover, the class counsel can also apply for an amount of $625,000 in terms of attorney and court cases to get the compensation for their work throughout the entire litigation.

If you want to file the claim for this settlement, you can print it, file, and mail it before the claim form deadline, which is Feb’1, 2019. However, the final approval for this settlement is scheduled for April’16, 2019.
