Crowman Tenant Harassment Settlement Fund

An $8 million Crowman Tenant Harassment Settlement fund has been established for those who lived as tenants in Steven Croman’s New York rent-controlled residences. This Harassment Settlement fund is the result of a lawsuit by the New York Attorney’s General Office.

They have made an allegation that Steve Croman, Anthony Falconite, and Croman Real Estate have harassed and defrauded their tenants. Not only they have defrauded, but they have also violated various rent laws of New York.

Moreover, under the restitution fund terms, tenants who have their name on a lease in Steve Croman’s rent apartment between July 20, 2011, and Dec 20, 2017, are eligible to submit a claim from the $8 million funds. However, tenants must not have accepted the payout to be eligible for the claim.

According to local news, tenants were harassed by Croman. They say that their gas was cut off for months and they were also made to live in the unsafe conditions.

There was also an incident, where the entire building went into evacuation by the official over fire due to some safety concerns.

Now, Steve Croman and other defendants will make four payments that will include $8 million into the entire settlement fund. Moreover, the terms of the restitution have also required Croman’s properties.

The Tenants who are eligible for this harassment settlement will be sent a notice to submit a claim by November’4, 2018.
