Hyundai Vehicles Panoramic Sunroof Class Action Settlement

Sunroof Class Action Settlement

Hyundai and plaintiffs have reached a settlement to solve the case against the company. According to Sunroof Class Action Settlement, the claim says that the Hyundai’s panoramic sunroofs shatter unexpectedly. If you owned or leased Hyundai vehicles equipped with a panoramic sunroof, you can file a claim to get compensation.

Case Summary

Plaintiffs Billy Glenn, Roxana Fitzmaurice, Kim Fama, Kathy Warburton, Jahan Mulla, and Corinne Kane filed a case against Hyundai, Motor America, and Hyundai Motor Company in December 2015.

Moreover, the class action claimed that the Hyundai panoramic sunroofs were prone to shattering which occurred because of a defect in the glass used in Hyundai vehicles. Further, the Hyundai class action lawsuit claimed that the shattering was “at least in part due to the ceramic tint used on the glass.”

Further, the plaintiffs said that the sunroofs can shatter unexpectedly with a high sound. This allegedly led to repair expenses and other costs.

However, under the Sunroof Class Action Settlement, Hyundai agreed to settle the class action lawsuit in February 2019. But, the company do not admit any wrongdoing by settling the class action lawsuit.

There are many options available for compensation under the Hyundai sunroof settlement. For instance, non-monetary compensation includes an extended warranty. Further, monetary compensation includes reimbursement for repairs up to $200 and a $1,000 for trade in rebate.

Moreover, if Class Members do not want to trade in their vehicle, they can claim for compensation up to $600 through a mediation session.

Hyundai owners need to file a valid Claim Form before July 25, 2019 to get the compensation benefits.

Further, the deadline for objection or exclusion from the settlement is June 25, 2019.
